Laura Mulvey's Theory

Laura Mulvey theories basically discuss the inequality between male and female actor, her teory is called “male gae”. She came out with this theory after undertaking detailed search on music videos and how they represent and cast sexy hot looking women only for heterosexual man. She also came out with new word called seism which is sexism in other normal public language, and she describe that this inequality doesn’t only exist in actual product but also in text and how they present women in most of the music videos. In her theory she mentioned three looks, which she believed to have seen in almost every music video.

1. The first "look" is how a male observes a female character.

2. The second "look" is how a viewer feels seeing the female character on screen.

3. The third "look" combines the first and second "looks", and permits the male target audience to take the female character as their own personal sex object which is seism; because male target audience feels they can relate themselves to the male character, which they believe they’re looking through while watching music video.

We will have a male actor, who seems to have interest in every beautiful woman he sees. The guy will feel like every beautiful woman he chose to have fun with is attracted towards him, and he is sure that in few minutes and few looks female actor will be in love with him. Our target audience is male teenagers, therefore it will create the scenario where audience will feel like they are the male actor and they are going to have fun with a beautiful hot looking woman.
